Tail Stop Shuffle

Tail Stop Shuffle
  • DRAW THE FRONT FOOT CLOSE TO THE TAIL BEFORE HOPPING

  • BEND YOUR KNEES FOR BETTER BALANCE

  • GET CREATIVE! TRY TURNING 180°

The tail stop shuffle involves hopping and switching feet while standing in the tail stop position. This trick is a great way to improve your balance in tail stop before learning tricks like the finger flip, truck stand, switchblade, etc.

Before learning the tail stop shuffle, it’s important to know how to get into and out of tail stop.

Start stationary with all four wheels down. Set up with your back foot in the center of the tail and with your front foot near the front truck bolts. Bend your knees and press down on the tail enough to lift the front wheels and rock the board back into a tail stop. Lift your front foot, draw it near the back foot, hop and switch feet. Now, while balancing with your front foot on the tail, hop and switch feet again. Tie it all together by dropping the front wheels and ending with all four wheels down.

For a challenge, try spinning 180 degrees during the tail stop shuffle. Spin as you switch feet. Are you dizzy yet?
